About the Series
MIT's Global Studies and Languages Section is launching the T.T. and W.F. Chao Distinguished Buddhist Lecture Series, April 2018. The purpose of this Lectureship is to provide a valuable opportunity for the MIT community to engage with the rich history of Buddhist thought and ethical action in the world as a means of advancing critical dialogues and our shared commitment to MIT's mission "to develop in each member of the MIT community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.” On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi will deliver the inaugural lecture of the series, with a talk titled, "Forging a New Moral Vision in an Age of Crisis.”
